How do I create separate WiFi network names (SSID) and password for each wireless band?

When Smart Connect is enabled, the router will use one Wifi network name/password for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks. To create a unique name/password for each band, you must disable Smart Connect.

Web UI

Step 1: Log into your router using a web browser.   How do I log into my router?

Step 2: Hover over the Settings tab and click Wireless.

Step 3: Next to Smart Connect, click Disable. You will now have separate fields for WiFi name and password for each wireless band. For Mesh routers, you will need to disable WiFi Mesh also, but will not be able to create a Mesh network. Smart Connect must be enabled for Mesh to function.

Step 4: Click Advanced Settings to access more settings such as channel, security mode, and scheduling.

Step 5: Click Save.
